It pays off beside pages you already keep in Notion — not as another empty chat box.
Notion AI is worth money only when pages, databases, and team templates are already the workplace. I use it to fold messy minutes into decisions / tasks / opens, to expand a rough database field into an internal note, or to fill a weekly template. Copying that to ChatGPT drops links and relations. It is not a better novelist. It is one less round trip. A blank PR brief is not stronger than a general model, and often shorter and more templated. Permissions follow the page: anyone who can see it may see the AI rewrite, so keep personnel and unreleased numbers out. Chinese works; formulas, relations, and views still need a human. I build the structure; it fills sentences. Asking it to “design a wiki” yields empty tables nobody uses. It has no Jasper-style brand voice system and is not a Grammarly last pass. It is an assistant inside your wiki. That is the job.
